Happy Birthday Pac-Man!

Thanks for taking the time to join me again:

This week Pac-Man turned 30 years old, but despite his still glowing yellow complexion he has not aged well. If you put Pac-Man next to a character from, say, Halo or Call of Duty it would seem that they were born centuries apart, not a few decades. But isn't this the way people advance? Didn't we go from the Wright Brother's first manned flight (1903) of only a few hundred feet, to putting a man on the moon (1969) in a mere 63 years!?! It seems that once we learn to crawl-we run.
But, I believe there is a plateau to our technological growth/capabilities. I hate to ruin it for you sci-fi fans, but the world of The Jetsons is not one that humans are destined to inhabbit. Just as a carpenter is limited by his tools, people are only able to create what we can using our HUMAN intelligence and ingenuity. This is to say, I believe there is a definite limit to our capacity. We as a species may only have yet realized a small fraction of our potential, but there will always be the unfathomable. There will always be something that we can not describe. We have a bright future, but what happens when we can not continue to push our minds? when everything has been discovered? or will there always be a "cutting edge"?

p.s. I am not a fan or rhetorical questions, and understand if you also are annoyed with this entry...I'll try harder next time...Or will I?!?
